Hisense’s latest smart air conditioner is on sale for just $249.99
Staying cool during the summer is about more than comfort; being overly hot can accelerate the aging process and be the difference between life and death. The NIH has guidance on how to handle hot weather, including a recommendation to stay in a place with air conditioning, if possible. Luckily for those in warmer climates, Hisense’s BTUWC08W25A, its latest smart air conditioner, is on sale for $249.99 ($50 off) at Amazon, which is its lowest price ever.

I’ve tested a previous-gen window air conditioner from Hisense, and was impressed at how easy it was to set up and use. The 8,000 BTU WC08W25A can fit into windows that are at least 13.6 inches high and between 24.5 and 39 inches wide. It cools down your entire room more evenly by pushing air in four directions simultaneously, which can help you feel cooler faster, given the way warm air rises. You can control the four-mode air conditioner with a remote, touch-sensitive buttons, or the ConnectLife App, assuming it’s connected to your Wi-Fi network.
Using the mobile app allows you to manage your air conditioner from anywhere. You can turn it on when you’re returning home, which can help reduce your utility bill and ensure the room is cool when you enter. If you have a regular schedule, you can also set it to automatically turn on and off at specific times. The WC08W25A is designed to cool rooms up to 350 square feet, but Hisense offers similar models with the same features that are appropriate for areas double that size.
Three more deals worth your time If you plan on spending time at the beach or pool this summer, Sony’s ULT Field 1 is down to around $88 ($40 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart. The Bluetooth speaker is IP67 rated, meaning it can be submerged in up to a meter of water for 30 minutes without taking damage. The mono speaker can last up to 12 hours and recharges over USB-C, too, and you can wirelessly pair it with another ULT Field 1 to play music in stereo. It features an ULT button to increase its bass as well, which has become a hallmark feature of Sony’s latest headphones and speakers. Best Buy is offering a $50 gift card and a three-month trial to Meta Horizon Plus (a $24 value) when you buy a 512GB Meta Quest 3 for $499.99. The mixed reality headset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor and features a 2064 x 2208 display for each eye, which is equivalent to a 4K screen. The displays have a 120Hz refresh rate, while a pair of onboard cameras allows you to see the real world and avoid walking into objects. In terms of support, it can play games designed specifically for the Quest 3 or titles on Xbox Game Pass, Nvidia GeForce Now, or Steam via Steam Link. Read our review. Samsung’s Viewfinity Monitor (S80UA) is on sale for $234.99 ($210 off) at Amazon, which is its lowest price ever. The adjustable 4K monitor features an IPS display with wide viewing angles, along with HDMI, a DisplayPort, and USB-C ports. Connecting via USB-C enables 90W charging and data transfer between your computer and the monitor’s three USB 3.0 ports. The display supports HDR10 for more vibrant colors, as well as an Eye Care mode that reduces blue light. The fact that it’s outfitted with a 60Hz refresh rate and 5ms response time means it’s not for gaming, but it’s a fine display for anything else.
